Nashvegas Baby!

Last weekend we made the three hour trip to Nashville to meet our friends Kerri and Bill. Bill had a work conference at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center. It was nice to see familiar faces since Christmas was our last trip home.

Welcome to Music City! Hayes was super excited to stay at another roundhouse, or hotel. For some reason that is what he calls all hotels. He likes the elevators and has been known to run ahead of us and hop on. Thankfully we've always made it to the door before it closes. When we got off the elevator to our floor in Nashville, he said 'VERY nice.' It was hilarious, and this Hampton Inn is new and very nice.

Here is a cool guitar shaped chair in the lobby.

So Friday night we checked in and then Kerri and Bill met us at a restaurant near the hotel. Sheldon, Hayes and I went back to our hotel after dinner, got in the bed and then heard some serious bass coming from somewhere. Around 11pm Sheldon got up and went on a search to find out where the music was coming from. Turns out it was the Texas Troubadour Theatre all along. Apparently they have a loud music show until 1am on Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out the Nashville Cowboy Church they were promoting for Sunday morning. So if you ever stay at the Hampton Inn or Hyatt Place in the Opryland area you may want to ask for a room opposite of the TTT. Thankfully we had the Sleep Mate to tune out most of it. The BEST white noise machine EVER!http://www.amazon.com/Marpac-Conditioner-SleepMate-580A-Machine/dp/B000LQI2S0

Sheldon and Hayes at Bill's conference. Sheldon wanted me to take a picture of him in front of the 3M booth (not of the Amish family behind him). Little known fact that Sheldon and I are amazed by the Amish. We both think they are facsinating.

Inside just one section of the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center. This place is huge and I would love to stay there on a future trip to Nashville.

Another interior of the hotel.

One of the lobby ceilings. We sat here after walking around and enjoyed a snack until someone dressed up in a bear costume came by and scared Hayes. Needless to say we didn't get a picture since we were waving the bear to keep moving.

So we had a great trip with The Griffiths! Now I'm quarantined to the state of Illinois until BB (baby brother) makes his debut. Well, technically I could visit Missouri, Kentucky or Indiana since they are all within an hour, but I doubt that will happen. However, I just discovered that the mall in KY has a Chick-Fil-A so I may have a Saturday craving before too much longer. :)
