Cataloochee

Our family has been visiting the Cataloochee Ranch three miles up the mountain in Maggie Valley, NC for over 15 years. It is a great place to renew your soul and spirit.

Here is the Laurel cabin we stayed in this year.

Horseback riding is one of the main activities. You can enjoy a 2-3 hour ride morning and/or afternoon.

Eating is also another main activity at the ranch. They literally ring a bell at 8am for breakfast and 7pm for dinner. After dinner they usually have some form of entertainment. This year it was a kid-friendly poet one night and some acoustic sing-a-long music another night.

Unfortunately Sheldon couldn't make this trip so I had the luxury of tending to my two boys. Every time we sat down to eat Eli was crying except the one night that Hayes had a meltdown from being overly tired. :)
