Polar Express

Garret, Ashlyn, Rhett and Hayes watching Polar Express.
Ashlyn asked if she could sit with Kirk and Hayes. Sweet.

My new niece-dog!

My sister and her family just added a new addition to their family, a labradoodle named Milly. Here she is at 13 weeks old.

Eli for Congress?

Every politician loves a baby pic, right?

Christina Jeffrey visited Fuddruckers in Greer Saturday night. She is running for Congress in the 4th Congressional District. Didn't have the heart to tell her she most definitely would not have our vote because we live in Illinois.

Just like Daughtry...

"I'm coming home."

(Oh yes I did.)

We drove to the other side (your side) of Nashville last night, and are making our way to Easley today! Hopefully we will miss the Memorial Day traffic since we are making our way today. Should be FUN (with sarcasm in my voice) driving back on Memorial Day though.

Can't wait to see so many of you over Memorial Day weekend!

Hayesism

This afternoon Hayes came out of his room and said, "I looked in my mirror and I'm still Hayes, Mommy."

Time to move from the cradle to crib?

No! Not yet!

I remember when Hayes was about four months old he started getting his leg hung in the cradle, and would cry out during the night. That is when we moved him to his own room in his crib. I think that time may be fast approaching for Eli too, however he doesn't mind his leg hanging over quite yet. He just keeps on sleeping.

Horse Day

Whatever Hayes does on any given day he names it that. For example, below he pulled his horse in the living room and started riding it because it is "horse day." Last week we went to the train park, so it was "trainy day." And those of you that know Hayes well know that every day is a "sunny day."
I don't know if it was the morning of horse day, but one morning I woke up to Hayes standing there with this cowboy hat on. I never know what I am going to see when I open my eyes in the morning. He always has something on or in his hand when he comes in our bedroom every morning to wake me up.

Finally got some flowers planted!

Hayes and I planted some flowers in our front porch planters last week, and also some herbs and geraniums for the back. Hopefully they will survive with all our trips back and forth this summer.

Love this green willow looking accent plant.

One of my Mother's Day gifts...fern and the shepards hook.

And here it is altogether. We also hung our bird feeder in the tree you see in the left of this picture. We've been enjoying watching birds from our window while we are eating.

Mother's Day

I am bummed because these are the only pics I have from Mother's Day! I had a snaffu with my internal memory card! BOO!

Eli at 3 months old!

I cannot believe Eli is already 3 months old! I am, however, happy that he is sleeping from 10pm until at least 6:30am and sometimes as late as 8am. Mama is finally getting sleep again and very happy about it!

Mornin' snooze
Look at how long his eye lashes are...

I'm Baa-aack!

Okay living without a computer these days is NOT easy! My computer crashed and it was my only connection with the real world. I've been in withdrawls for the past week after I got the BIG BLUE screen of death on my Dell laptop, but luckily we were able to get a new one today!

So...I'll be posting some new pics of the kiddos soon!

A Newborn’s Conversation with God

A baby asked God, “They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?”

God said, “Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”

The child further inquired, “But tell me, here in heaven I don’t have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.”

God said, “Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel’s love and be very happy.”

Again the small child asked, “And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don’t know the language?”

God said, “Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.”

“And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?”

God said, “Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.”

“Who will protect me?”

God said, “Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.”

“But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.”

God said, “Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.”

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, “God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.”

God said, You will simply call her, “Mom.”

10 Weeks Old today!

Getting ready to go on our daily walk!

Eli at 9 weeks old

Eli had his 2 month appointment last Thursday and he is up to 10 lbs 13 oz. He is cooing and talking more, and is enjoying putting his hand in his mouth. He is also holding his head up really well. Mama is loving that he is usually sleeping from about 10pm to 4am or 5am.

And this morning...not so successful.

I had to clean poop up off the floor. Oh well...hopefully he's getting the idea. They are supposed to just "get it" one day as everyone says. So hopefully that day will be tomorrow.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my sweet niece Haley and my dear friend Andrea!

Great Success!

Hayes finally did a stinky in the potty this morning for the first time! I know some of you don't care about this, but I am beyond ready for my almost 3 1/2 year old to be potty trained.

I let him run around with just a tshirt on this morning, and he went pee pee three times (two times by my prompting)! Then I didn't even know he was in the potty and I hear, "mom, I did a stinky." My first thought was oh no he did it in his room, but no it was there in the potty! Just when I was going out today to buy some children's laxative to have a potty boot camp on this rainy weekend.

I've been telling Hayes that he can go to the toy store when he does a stinky in the potty, so I guess that is where we'll be heading soon. He's been loving to play with marbles at his Nana's, so maybe that is what we will get.

Hooray! Hopefully we are on the right track!
